As my first blog post in march I’m sharing with you a recipe that I wanted to try out for a long time and now I finally made it. These energy balls are healthy, delicious and you can make them in 5 minutes. These could be perfect as a pre or post workout snack or on the go.
Ingredients:
100 g rolled oats
50 g shredded coconut
30 g almonds
50 g pitted dates
½ banana
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Process oats, almonds and shredded coconut. Soak pitted dates in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain dates and put them in the food processor with banana and cacao powder, then process until mixture comes together. Form ball shapes.
This is the basic recipe but you can add fruit, nuts, maple syrup, rose petals or even protein powder, the variations are endless.
Note that these energy balls are not too sweet as we didn’t add any processed sugar. Mostly you can taste the cocoa powder and the banana, but you won’t feel guilty because these are made with organic ingredients which are truly good for you.
With this recipe I could make 15 energy balls.
Nutrition facts in one energy ball:
62.86 calories
2.72 g fat
9.23 g carbs
1,6 g protein
I hope you’ll try this recipe out, I’m sure I’ll bring some of them with me for my workout session on Friday.
